The communities of Windermere, Bowness & Troutbeck Bridge take great pride in the appearance and attractiveness of their surroundings. We live in a very beautiful area that is enhanced by the spring and summer show of colour.

The Town Council provides the funding for the erection and watering of 108 public hanging baskets and railing tubs throughout the community each year. Local businesses help by sponsoring tubs and baskets.

The Town Steward plants flower beds and tubs around the area and maintains them through the summer. He also picks litter, cleans road signs and removes rubbish on a regular basis. This is supplemented by locals who volunteer to litter pick, particularly in the Clean for the Queen week in March each year.
