Baddeley Clock This clock tower marks the division between Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere, and was built as a memorial to Mountford John Byrde Baddeley (1843 - 1906) who wrote a series of well regarded walker's guides from the new town of Windermere
The stone inscription on the clock tower reads: "To preserve the memory of Mountford John Byrde Baddeley After damage to the original clockwork mechanism caused by vandalism, in 2024 the Town Council funded the electrification of the clock. It is now back telling the time to all passers by.
