Windermere Town Twinning

25 Years of Twinning:

On Sunday 28th May 2023, we celebrated 25 years of town twinning between Windermere and Diessen and Ammersee in Germany. 

The Blasergruppe (brass band) began by playing at the Glebe Bandstand at 10am. 

The 25 year celebration ceremony took place on the Diessen Promenade at 11am. There were speaches by Mayor Leith Hallatsch and Burgermeister Sandra Perszak as well as the exchange of civic gifts and the cutting of the celebration cake.

Afterwards, the Blasergruppe played again, particularly delighting the audience with a performance on the alpenhorn.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported with this wonderful event. Special thanks go to the current Windermere Chairperson Jenny Borer for her organisation. Thanks also go to everyone who has supported the group over the last 25 years.
