Goodly Dale Cottage Homes
Goodly Dale Cottage Homes is a registered charity (number 247105) whose purpose is to provide accommodation in the form of almshouses for poor persons of good character each of whom shall not be less than 60 years of age (or 50 if disabled) and shall have been born or lived for 10 of the last 30 years in the Windermere and Ambleside urban districts or the former townships of Undermillbeck, Troutbeck and Applethwaite
The charity operates 20 homes with a separate wardens house, a communal lounge and guest bedroom The Trustees meet three to four times during the year as and when necessary and as required to select new tenants. Meetings are held on the premises Trustees are appointed as follows: Two by Windermere & Bowness Town Council Two by Cumbria County Council Two by the trustees of Goodly Dale Cottage Homes One by Lakes Parish Council |
Communications relating to the charity are maintained between meetings via the clerk to the Trustees,
