Windermere in Bloom

The communities of Windermere, Bowness & Troutbeck Bridge take great pride in the appearance and attractiveness of their surroundings. We live in a very beautiful area that is enhanced by the spring and summer show of colour.

The Town Council provides statement planting in a number of key locations in Bowness and Windermere.

The Town Steward plants flower beds and tubs around the area and maintains them through the summer. He also picks litter, cleans road signs and removes rubbish on a regular basis. This is supplemented by locals who volunteer to litter pick.

The Town Council organises judging and a presentation evening to award trophies and certificates to local residents and businesses whose gardens and displays have impressed throughout the summer. These are presented at the annual Windermere in Bloom ceremony in September/October each year.
