Grant Applications

Picture
The Town Council is pleased to support local groups and organisations with discretionary grants. The grant needs to benefit the town by providing a service, enhancing quality of life or the local environment.

These have included funding a poly tunnel for Windermere Food Farm, gym equipment for secondary school pupils, putting money towards the Windermere Christmas lights and a Coronation Afternoon Tea for older residents. Grants are also available to choirs, bands and orchestras for performing at the Glebe bandstand or civic events.

The grants are are subject to certain criteria as described in the accompanying Grant Award Guidance & Policy. All grant applications need to be approved at a Full Council meeting so please allow plenty of time for a decision to be made. Due to competing demands on the Grants Budget there is no guarantee that all grants will be approved. Amounts awarded usually range from £500-£1000. Sometimes grants are refused or a smaller amount of funding made available.

The clerk is always happy to advise on the application process.

If you think your group or organisation may qualify for a grant please read the accompanying guidance policy and download a copy of the application form. The completed form (along with any accompanying documentation) should be forwarded to the Town Clerk for consideration by the Council.

Please note: grant applications are first discussed at the Policy & Finance Advisory group meetings and then need to be approved by the Full Council, which only meets once a month. Therefore, please allow plenty of time to get approval.
