Windermere Beacon to be lit in honour of the Queen

Windermere Town Council are lighting the Beacon on Orrest Head to commemorate HM the Queen's 90th birthday on Thursday this week (21st April). Come along and sing Happy Birthday with us. We are lighting at 7.30pm on Orrest Head.

The National Park are consulting on the content of their Local Plan, which governs planning policy. If you have things you would like to bring to their attention, fill in the attached questionnaire and send it in.

Calling all volunteers - Swimsafe is back!

Swimsafe provides children aged 7 - 14 with an opportunity to swim and learn to be safe in open water through free swimming tuition and water safety advice sessions. It will take place at Rayrigg Meadow, Windermere, this summer on the following dates:
Monday 4th to Friday 8th July 9.30 to 3pm
Monday 11th to Friday 15th July 9.30 to 3pm
Monday 25th to Saturday 30th July 10 to 4pm
Monday 1st to Saturday 6th August 10 to 4pm
Monday 8th to Saturday 13th August 10 to 4pm

Swimsafe relies on volunteers to assist and sessions are typically 90mins in length. Training is given.
If you are interested, the application form is attached. DEADLINE IS 27 MAY. ​​
