Windermere Town Council has today responded to the Boundary Commission to say that moving Applethwaite to the Ambleside electoral area is totally unacceptable and a ridiculous idea. See the response by clicking on the icon below: Rather than see whole swathes of North Windermere transferred to administration from Ambleside, sign Ben Berry's petition at the link:
http://ben-berry.co.uk/windermere-petition/ Windermere Town Council are appalled at the draft proposals recently published by the Boundary Commission, which move the whole northern part of Windermere into Ambleside/Lakes Ward. This includes all streets and properties situated between Troutbeck Bridge (to the west), Orrest Head (to the north), Main Street (to the south) and Heaning Lane (to the east). It is a huge chunk of Windermere and will effectively cut the town in half. It will include transferring the Railway Station, Orrest Head viewpoint and the Lakes School into the Ambleside ward.
